1. Choose one visual idea

Start with a clear connection between the posters. This can be a marque, an era, a racing discipline or one colour system. A coordinated set usually creates a stronger result than unrelated individual prints.

  • JDM wall: Japanese performance icons with a shared night-city or archive treatment.
  • Engineering wall: technical blueprint posters using consistent backgrounds and line work.
  • Supercar wall: a balanced selection of modern performance icons.
  • Motorsport wall: driver, endurance or vintage racing artwork with a common palette.

2. Select a layout

One horizontal row

Ideal above a desk, workbench or low cabinet. Keep frame centres aligned and use equal spacing.

Two-by-two grid

A reliable layout for sets of four. Treat the outside edge of all four frames as one large rectangle.

Large hero plus supporting prints

Use one larger poster as the focal point and position two or three smaller prints around it. Maintain one shared frame style to keep the composition controlled.

3. Measure before printing

  1. Measure the available wall width and height.
  2. Subtract the planned outer margins.
  3. Add together the frame dimensions and gaps.
  4. Test the layout on the floor or with paper templates.
  5. Confirm print dimensions before ordering frames.

4. Use consistent spacing

For medium frames, a gap of roughly 5–8 cm is a practical starting point. Large frames can use 8–12 cm. The exact number matters less than consistency. Keep enough space around the complete group so the wall does not feel crowded.

5. Keep frames simple

Black, white or natural aluminium frames support automotive artwork without competing with it. Use the same frame colour and profile across a set. A white or off-white mount can add breathing room, but make sure it does not crop important parts of the composition.

Best workflow: choose the complete poster set first, decide the final print size second, and buy frames only after verifying the file ratio and printer crop preview.
